Outpatient Psychotherapy + Professional Supervision & Consultation
Thank you for visiting my page. If you are trying to conceive, pregnant, just had a baby within the past year (or more), experienced a recent loss, struggling to navigate parenting in a pandemic, struggling with the recent Rowe v Wade overturn, or if you are parenting a baby, toddler or child with a disability you did not anticipate you are not alone. It takes courage to reach out for support and help.
If you are struggling in other areas of your life and need support, I welcome you, also. My specialty includes both parenting and non-parenting areas of women’s lives. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming practice and a culturally competent therapist.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut. I have been working in the mental health field since 1998. I received my undergraduate degree in 1998 and received my graduate degree in 2003. My professional experience includes working in all types of settings including experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist (sleep technician), experience working in Day Treatment Programs and Intensive Care Facilities/group homes and experience working in mental health outpatient clinics. While the populations I’ve served have varied, my specialty, passion, and focus for the last seven years in private practice has been on supporting expecting and new mothers in the Perinatal and Postpartum period as well as joining you on your journey to raising children. I have specialty training in the diagnosis and treatment of PMAD’s (perinatal/postpartum mood and anxiety disorders).
Professional Supervision & Consultation:
I offer consultation and supervision to licensed therapists in MA and CT and I also offer private practice start-up consultation. After taking the scary plunge to leave my FT job with salary, benefits, and all, and opening up my private practice in July 2015, while raising two small children, I have since helped others to do the same and I am excited to help you, too! Nothing in my life has ever come “easy” to me; opening up this practice and insisting on it becoming successful was not only the easiest thing I’ve done, but the most rewarding and satisfying (aside from raising my children). If I can do it, you can to. Give me a call (508-433-0028).
Please reach out to inquire. I look forward to hearing from you.
Advanced Training in PMAD received from the Postpartum Stress Center, by Karen Kleiman, LCSW and from Postpartum Support International, from Birdie Gunyon-Meyer, RN, MA, CLC. Trauma Training in Perinatal Loss & Grief received in 2021 from The Seleni Institute in NYC.
